The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for transitioning Service Members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. The program helps Service Members bridge the gap between end of service and the beginning of their civilian careers. The program offers an excellent benefit for Installation and Unit Commanders who have members nearing military separation. Commanders can greatly ease this transition to civilian life by supporting their Service Members' interest in the SkillBridge Program. DoD SkillBridge Program is supported by the DoDI 1322.29 and NAVMC 1700.2.

As of April 2021, MSSA is completely virtual, and completely paid for by Microsoft. It is a highly competitive program that only accepts a limited number of applicants per cohort. S

General Dynamics Bath Iron Works's rotational program will take a transitioning vet and expose them to multiple areas of the shipyard over a 180 days that will include Safety, Operations, leadership training, Labor Relations and many more.
A majority of their interns will be placed in front line leadership positions within the shipyard in such areas as Electrical, Structural, Pipefitting, Insulating, Paint and Welding.

The program is a combination of soft skills, online training, classroom instruction, and hands-on lab time. Participants who successfully complete the program receive the nationally portable, industry-recognized certifications.
On-base housing may be available for transitioning service members.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of relevant professional experience or Non-Commissioned Officer with at least 3 years of supervisory experience (minimum E-4)
The internship will prepare you for promotion to Transportation Manager upon hire and completion of the Manager Training Program. J.B. Hunt operates throughout the continental U.S. We will work with you to find a training program location within commuting distance from your facility. You must be flexible to relocate for permanent hire.
Opportunities exist with John Deere dealerships nationwide. All applicants must first complete 8-days of Web based training at home/ installation. All tuition covered 100% by John Deere Corporate, and up to 4 month of hands on internship experience at a participating John Deere Dealership within 50 miles of an installation. Timing of the internship is mutually agreed upon between the service member, her/his commander, and a sponsoring John Deere Dealership.
The Web-Based Training is also available as a stand alone training to Service Members who are stationed OCONUS from a qualifying Military Occupation Code (MOC).
Jones Lange LaSalle - Americas (JLL) is a global technology company specializing in commercial real estate. They offer six (6) month internships at a variety of locations nationwide. The program provides participating service members training/experience in the private sector, and potential employment for those eligible for the DOD SkillBridge Program.
J-Tech Institute's 4 or 8-week Commercial Truck Driving and CDL Program helps students acquire the skills necessary to prepare for the Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Examination and to launch successful careers as commercial truck drivers.

The Kleinfelder internship is in their Construction and Materials Engineering and Testing or Construction Management services line. Based on the service members interests, they will either learn the basics of construction materials testing, inspection or construction management.
Lee Company's Career SkillBridge program seeks to provide meaningful training and possible post-service employment to Veterans.
Train and work in a variety of skilled trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, welding, pipefitting - from homes to high-rises. Lee Company either services it, builds it, or both.
Sigma Design Company offers internships in many different areas, including but not limited to: Engineering, Design, Machining, welding, assembly, and office work.
To do Special Projects Operations, the applicant must have experience with at least one of the following: high altitude jumping, underwater diving, EOD, special operations operator, exothermic breaching, mechanical breaching, explosive breaching, life support devices, high pressure air and/or oxygen systems, electrical systems (DC), diesel engines, power generation equipment.

This intensive training course will prepare you for a career in the solar industry. DoE master instructors will teach you how to design, install and troubleshoot PV systems. You will learn how to build solar installations that are safe, and that comply with the National Electrical Code. Every participant in this training program will take the NABCEP* PV Associate Certification Exam.

Nanomanufacturing Certificate Program
The NCP helps equip military veterans, as well as transitioning military personnel and spouses, with skills in nanotechnology-based manufacturing and new product development. Students enroll in TCC in Virginia, with lectures hosted and webcast by Penn State's Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization (CNEU) instructors, and a hands-on component provided by the Norfolk State University (NSU) Cleanroom Facility. The program is a free 8 week course that trains in the basics of becoming a Millwright. A millwright is in general terms an industrial mechanic. They work on conveyors, turbines, robots, and all types of machinery. At the successful completion of the 8 week program you will be set up with an apprenticeship in the Millwrights anywhere that you are transitioning to.
Job skills training program that provides intense accelerated training in the field of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR).
Interviews with command approved applicants are conducted by the vendor, to determine final selection/program acceptance. Upon successful completion of the training program, graduates are placed in a 5-year paid apprenticeship program at over 300 locations nationwide. Apprentices continue to earn college credit while they learn their trade. *Applicants be on Active Duty when training commences to be eligible for this program. **There is no cost associated; training is funded by the United Association.

Operation Socrates's mission is to provide a pipeline for military veterans to become teachers, create a guided pathway all the way from the military to employment in a K-12 School, and increase the diversity of teachers in the United States.
The training objective of SW Design is to provide the service member with exposure to Computer Programming and Graphic Design skills. The STEM Instructor Training is taught online while the hands-on portion of the internship is taught in-person.
All successful graduates will be provided with a job offer at the time of their separation from the military. Job placement takes place within 60 days from departure from the military.

The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology SkillBridge Program is designed for Veterans interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. The program is unique in that it aligns an accredited academic program (online) with an experiential learning component where veterans obtain hands-on training and support by prospective employers in the healthcare industry. Graduates of the program receive a BMET Certificate, 15 College Credits, and the experience gained by working with a reputable employer.

Emergency Medical Technician
This course is designed for those with little to no medical background wanting to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Students receive classroom lectures, hands-on practical applications, work with state of the art training simulators and automated digitalized medical mannequins. Additionally, each student is required to work with a local Rescue Squad or with a local Fire Station that provides EMT services for a minimum of 48 hours. Upon completion of the program, the students can take the NC EMT Certification exam or the National Registry Certification exam to be licensed as a certified EMT.

Healthcare and First Responder: Telluride Adaptive Sports
The SkillBridge position at Telluride Adaptive Sports Program is an apprenticeship position that introduces and trains people in working with nonprofits as well as in adaptive outdoor recreational sports for people with disabilities.
Preferred experience: prior experience in the sports that they are instructing for that season (summer - mountain biking, rock climbing, paddle sports etc; winter - ski or snowboarding), prior experience working in some capacity with populations such as children and or people with disabilities.

Since 2014, Troops To Firefighters has been committed to training, counseling and placing transitioning troops and veterans in jobs as firefighters and 9-1-1 emergency telecommunicators.
Healthcare and First Responder: Undersea Oxygen Clinic
The Undersea Oxygen Clinic has a keen interest in treating veterans and is involved in a PTSD / TBI clinical demonstration project to show the efficacy of hyperbarics to treat. The Undersea Oxygen Clinic also has clinical research available. This program is looking for service members with as much medical training as possible through the military and personal qualifications classes signed off. Special skills include but not limited to: CPR current, AED, Blood pressure cuff use, Insert and IV, Basic patient monitoring such as counting respirations and such.

U.S. Citizen, minimum 18 years of age, and must meet at least one of the following criteria: Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four-year institution) and have completed two semesters before the internship start date.
