Join MCCS on Camp Kinser for another bout of hot summer fun at the 2008 Kinser Festival. Admission is FREE and open to everyone island-wide. This year's festival will feature free entertainment, a variety of cultural foods, amusement rides, game booths, kiddie land, a deal or no deal style competition, and more. Topping the entertainment list this year is R&B singing sensation Brenda Vaughn.

This year's Kinser Festival will also offer sports lovers island-wide a chance to take part in the fun. An opportunity to show off the most powerful upper body on the island in the Kinser Festival Open Bench Press Competition, which will be held on September 21 at the Camp Kinser Festival Grounds. Awards will be given to first, second, and third place winners in each weight class.

Attendees can also enter to win two round trip tickets to any UAL gateway city via Kansai, Nagoya or Narita or a business class upgrade courtesy of United Airlines and Omega World Travel. No pets, backpacks, or outside alcohol will be allowed. For more information contact MCCS Special Events at 645-5828.

Awase Meadows Golf Course Club Championship October 11-13 Tee Time Event This is an individual stroke play, tee time event with 54 holes over three days. There will be a senior division for golfers over 50 years. Participants in the Club Championship are eligible for a free practice round, free club storage and cleaning, a putting contest, and a long drive contest. There is an $80 registration fee and it includes breakfast and a hot dog lunch each day, drinks while on the course, tee packet, and an awards banquet. Green and cart fees are not included.
