Yui Kanan | 雅南　ユイ

A study in versatility, Yui Kanan is an EDM DJ and CEO of the professional cosplay company ONIGIRI PLUS Inc. After receiving 3rd place in the world at WCS 2008 for a cosplay performance, she sharpened her cosplay skills and knowledge working in the entertainment industry with clients from animation, game, manga, local government municipalities and NPOs to maintain a professional work environment for cosplayers while making cosplay and cosplayers more accepted by Japanese society. She was an image cosplayer for the Tokyo Comic Con (2016–2020) and managed the cosplay section at the events, including setting up stage events sponsored by Air Asia, Sony Entertainment and Disney. Recently, after her appointment as a special teacher at Digital Hollywood University, Kanan has been traveling to many high schools and universities to share her knowledge and experience while also studying intellectual property law and other ideologies overseas.

Maike Huster | マイケ・ハスター

Maike Huster is a professional cosplayer from Germany. Cosplaying since 2018, Huster specializes mostly in elaborate, large-armor builds, however, she also enjoys working with special effects such as LED lighting and smoke machines. Largely inspired by games, anime and simple concept art, her original cosplays speak for themselves. Huster’s largest motivation for crafting new cosplays is the challenges each new project brings, as she loves to learn and try new things. She has judged at several cosplay contests in Europe as well as placing as a finalist in several contests—most notably, the Blizzard Cosplay Contest, the Ultimate Cosplay Contest and the Gamescom Contest. Huster’s works are characterized by great attention to detail and intricate special effects, including built-in lights, theatrical smoke, fog and other atmospheric effects.

Meisha Mock | メイシャ・モック

Meisha Mock, fine artist, sculptor and model extraordinaire, believes in not just riding the wave but creating her own. Her core values of universal connection, love for animals, beauty in creation and creating empowerment are embodied in her art. Mock, inspired by the concept of bringing some of her favorite 2D characters to life, started cosplaying in 2014. Best known for her Princess Mononoke cosplay, Mock specializes in detail work that reimagines characters, bringing more depth to the design. Mock’s most recent focus is Shrine of Creations, her original brand of unique pieces of fine art (animal-themed masks) that can be worn or hung on the wall. She customizes them by casting and hand sculpting them, painting them, and adding a variety of fur textiles.

Bryce Papenbrook has been a professional voice-over artist since the age of eight. Tara Sands, famous voice actress and Cartoon Network’s Fridays co-host, can be heard as 50+ characters in the original Pokémon English dub—including Bulbasaur, Richie, Jasmine, Oddish and Tori. Keone Young | キョーネ・ヤング

Keone Young, prolific Asian-American actor, has been in the film/TV industry for over 50 years. Young is well-known for the voice of Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Chad Hardin | チャド・ハーディン

Chad Hardin studied art at Southern Utah University, graduating with his Bachelor’s in Illustration and later with his Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In 2005, Hardin quit his 9 to 5 to illustrate comics as a freelance artist, but by 2006 he accepted a position with DC Comics, working on Countdown to Mystery, which led to other assignments—including Reign in Hell, The Spirit, The Warlord, Zatanna and Demon Knights. And in 2013, Hardin worked alongside Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti on DC’s “The New 52” hit title Harley Quinn. Hardin currently lives with his wife and kids in American Fork, Utah and is a tenured professor of illustration at Utah Valley University; he also enjoys doing creator-owned works with Artists Elite (Death Watch) and Paper Films in his free time.

Known for his Rick and Morty virtuosity, David Angelo Roman, who was classically trained in art in Spain and Italy, creates Rick and Morty cover art for Oni Press comic books as well as trading cards for Cryptozoic. Matt Frank | マット・フランク

Kaiju (monster) enthusiast Matt Frank had his first official foray into the Godzilla franchise as the cover artist for Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters with IDW Publishing, and after becoming a fan-favorite for all things monstrous, Frank took on creative roles for both Godzilla: History’s Greatest Monster and Godzilla: Rulers of the Earth. Although always the “Kaiju King” at heart, he is also recognized for his illustrations in the Transformers series. 

In 2017, Frank found himself in the unique position of adapting the Japanese tokusatsu tv hero from Tsuburaya Productions, Redman, into his own official comic spinoff Redman: The Kaiju Hunter. Frank is also heavily associated with the Ultraman franchise, working on comic covers, art books and product design, to include popular

Maximillian Uriarte  | マクシミリアン・ ウリアルテ

New York Times bestselling author, artist, creator, filmmaker and Marine Corps infantry veteran, Maximillian Uriarte, was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon. Uriarte joined the Marine Corps at the age of 19 in 2006,

serving as an 0351 Infantry Assaultman. While active duty, he created and published his all too relatable and hilarious webcomic Terminal Lance, arguably the world’s most popular military comic strip. Uriarte got out of the Marine Corps in 2010 and used his GI Bill to study animation at the California College of Arts in San Francisco. After graduating (in 2013) with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation, Uriarte started work on his first feature-length graphic novel, The White Donkey which was published in 2016 and went on to become a New York Times Bestseller. Following the success of The White Donkey was Uriarte’s second full-length graphic novel, Battle Born: Lapis Lazuli (published in 2020).
