Skate Park Rules
The skate park facility provides a controlled environment designed specifically for skateboarding, BMX, roller/in-line, and skating activities. These rules and regulations are established to enhance the safety of all patrons. Those who do not comply will be required to leave the facility.
All patrons are required to complete and sign a liability and publicity release form. Parents shall sign a liability and publicity release form for all minors (17 years and under) prior to participating in skate park activities. Liability and publicity release forms are available and kept on file at the nearest staffed fitness center.
General Rules
- All patrons shall wear helmets while participating in skate park activities. Approved helmets for skating activities shall meet the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F1492 standard, and bicycle helmets shall meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) standard. Recommended safety equipment for children includes kneepads, elbow pads, wrist guards, and gloves. Random checks by staff shall be made to verify usage.
- Tobacco and alcohol products are strictly prohibited. Smoking is not permitted within 100 feet of the skate park.
- Animals are not authorized inside the skate park, except for service animals that are trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability.
- Horseplay, fighting, swearing, abusive language, and/or destruction of government property are prohibited.
- Identification cards must be provided upon request.
- Report all injuries to the nearest staffed fitness center.
- MCCS is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property left unattended. PMO should be contacted in the event of lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
- Maximum occupancy loads shall not be exceeded for the skate park facility. Recommended usage is one person per each element at a time.
Youth Accessibility
- Youth ages 16 to 17 years are permitted unsupervised use of the skate park.
- Youth ages 12 to 15 years are permitted unsupervised use of the skate park with a designated adult checking in periodically.
- Youth ages 11 years and younger are permitted supervised use of the skate park with a designated adult that remains on site at all times.
