Keep Your Family Safe in the Water

Keep Your Family Safe in the Water

A child or weak swimmer can drown in the time it takes to reply to a text, check a fishing line, or apply sunscreen. Unfortunately, deaths and injuries from drowning occur daily in various settings, including home pools, hot tubs, beaches, oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, and even bathtubs or buckets.

Swim sober, and avoid swimming alone, holding your breath underwater for long durations or diving into shallow or unclear waters. Be vigilant while swimming in rivers, oceans, and lakes because of currents, temperature, vegetation, and marine life.

Reach out to your local Semper Fit Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience Aquatics Program for information on getting CPR, first aid, or lifeguard training or participating in the Learn to Swim Program.
