MCCS Health Promotion Okinawa Earns 2024 Navy Surgeon General’s Blue H Award – Gold Star Level

MCCS Health Promotion Okinawa is proud to announce that we have received the 2024 Navy Surgeon General’s Health Promotion and Wellness Blue H Award at the Gold Star Level—the highest level of recognition offered through the program.

This year, only 14 Gold Star awards were granted across 66 Marine Corps commands who submitted for consideration, making this achievement especially meaningful. This marks our 15th year submitting for the Blue H Award and our 14th Gold Star.

The Blue H Award recognizes commands that demonstrate excellence in workplace health promotion policies, activities, challenges, and outcomes. Award criteria span a wide range of health topics that are vital to supporting the readiness and resiliency of our warfighters, including:
Responsible Drinking
Healthy Eating
Active Living
Psychological Health
Sexual Health
Tobacco-Free Living
Weight Management

At MCCS Health Promotion Okinawa, we are proud to lead the way in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based programs and services that address these focus areas. From unit education and wellness briefings to targeted campaigns, fitness services, and behavior change support, our team remains committed to promoting the overall health and performance of our Marines, Sailors, family members, and civilian workforce across MCB Butler.

We are honored to be recognized at the highest level and remain dedicated to strengthening our impact and advancing mission readiness through innovative and inclusive health promotion strategies.

Thank you to our incredible team and community partners for helping us achieve this milestone once again!
