Healthy Eating Month (March)

March is Healthy Eating Month—a time to focus on the importance of good nutrition and how it impacts overall health. Join us throughout the month at fitness centers on Camps Kinser, Foster, Courtney, Hansen, Schwab, and MCAS Futenma, as well as online through Facebook and outreach events at Mess Halls and Commissaries. Open to all with base access (ages 18+), this free initiative, led by MCCS Health Promotion, provides valuable resources to help you make informed choices about your diet and well-being. No registration required—stop by and start your journey to healthier living!

Simple Ways to Improve Health and Reduce Risk of Chronic Disease:

  • Fill Your Plate with Color: Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to get essential vitamins and minerals.
  • Choose Whole Foods: Opt for whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats over processed options.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support overall health.
  • Practice Portion Control: Be mindful of serving sizes to maintain a balanced diet.
  • Plan Ahead: Meal prep and smart grocery shopping can help you make healthier choices.

Make nutrition a priority this March and take the first step toward a healthier, more energized you! For more information, contact the Health Promotion main office at 645-3910 or mccshealthpromotions@okinawa.usmc-mccs.org
