MCCS Bowling Centers offer a fun recreational activity for service members, civilians, and their families, from novices to competitive bowlers. The facilities feature state-of-the-art entertainment systems, seasonal and holiday specials, tournaments, cosmic glow bowling, and pro shops (at Camp Foster) with bowling balls, shoes, and accessories. MCCS Libraries provide a welcoming, community-centered space offering a wide range of resources for service members, families and students across the island. Once registered at any MCCS Library, patrons gain full access to all MCB Camp Butler library locations, making it easy to borrow materials or attend programs no matter where they live or work.  

Each library offers an extensive collection of books, audiobooks, digital resources, study spaces, computers and free Wi-Fi, along with educational and recreational programs for all ages including story times, craft activities, book clubs and seasonal reading events. On the last Friday of each month, head to Habu Pit on MCAS Futenma at 5 p.m. to enjoy music, themed drinks (while supplies last) and karaoke in the SNCO Lounge. Outdoor Recreation (Futenma)

MCCS Outdoor Recreation offers a wide selection of camping and outdoor gear for rent, including tents, canopies, sleeping bags, lanterns, grills, stoves, and coolers. Additional items for parties and cookouts such as tables, chairs and turkey fryers are also available. The Single Marine Program (SMP) enhances the quality of life for single and unaccompanied Marines and Sailors through recreation, community involvement and cultural activities. Each camp’s SMP council meets monthly to plan and support programs such as local and off-island trips, Japanese language and culture exchanges, community service projects, paintball, barracks bashes and more. SMP helps service members stay connected, engaged and supported while stationed on Okinawa. For more information, call the SMP main office at 645-3681.

Thirsty’s at MCAS Futenma is a dining and entertainment venue offering fast casual fare for lunch and dinner, including Bulldogs Burgers and Sumo Burrito. Originally built as a small enlisted club in the 1950s, Thirsty’s has been renovated over the years into a modern entertainment center. Patrons can enjoy karaoke, DJs, comedy shows, and more in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

The Transition Readiness Program (TRP) prepares Marines for successful life after military service by providing required training, counseling and resources to meet Career Readiness Standards. The program includes the mandatory Transition Readiness Seminar (TRS), a three-day workshop covering transition planning, career alignment, financial planning, VA benefits and employment fundamentals, along with individualized counseling prior to separation or retirement.
